Gringos at the Rodeo

Ah, the Rodeo. I don´t know what we were doing, we have lived in Costa Rica for a month now, and still, when the rodeo was supposed to start at 5, we got there at 5!!! We should have been thinking more clearly and realized that it wouldn´t actually start until 630. Anyways, so we were sitting in the arena early, watching it slowly fill up as it got closer to 6. But, it´s a good thing that we were there early, because now we are on Costa Rican TV. We´re stars.
This guy from Channel 11 News came up to us and wanted to interview us in a little piece that was to be--¨what are these Gringos doing at the Rodeo??¨ So we thought that would be easy enough. It turned out to be much more. They filmed us all walking down the path towards the place, then looking (all of this acting was awful) everywhere, high and low, for the arena, then, ah!! there it is!! finding the stadium after much pointing and happiness. He then filmed us walking towards it (artistically showing our individual feet as we went along, and then from the back) and then entering. When we were all sitting in the bleachers, he panned across all of us and we all had to act out surprise! nervousness for the cowboys! awe! fear! overexaggerate everything! Jump to your feet in utter surprise!! It was crazy. They interviewed us afterwards, and Noelle was told to say that she was so nervous and scared. It was like a telenovela, except it is the news! Very funny. Anyways, it is supposed to be on tonight at 9, and we´ll see how people will react to us tomorrow, once we´re famous. Tonight is the championship of the rodeo, so we will be going back to see how it is. Maybe tonight CNN will be there!

Also, the other day when we were walking home, we saw 5 tucans fly above us and sit in a tree. They were so beautiful, completely wild, and just sitting there for our viewing pleasure. Also, last night I dreamed in Spanish, and my parents are coming on Tuesday!! I love Costa Rica!
